One of the BEST poems to come out of my teenage years.
A reference to that year I got really into coconut oil and loved the idea of someone being the coconut oil soaking into my hands.

like butter,
you are smooth,
milky in my arms, against my chest,
you are fresh and supple
with hands big enough to hold me to earth.

Softness in your voice, closes my content and curious eyes with two bold finger tips.

Like honey,
you are warm,
easing into my smallest cracks and glazing over my thoughts each day.
You will be the hardest poem for me to write.
The sweetest time spent with a pen in my hand.

Like cream,
you have aged,
taken from youth and mixed into expensive coffee.
Used lightly to saturate the delicate mixture heavy and pure
and hard to be common.

like coconut oil,
you are the tenderness between my fingers, the eyelashes on my cheeks
just like oil on my hands
you take care of yourself.
And I see you, I see you,
with aback heavy from the world
there is nothing I can do but mix into you like coconut oil.
